The foliage wires are clipped into the spreaders which are opened between 20-30cm wide in the spring, ensuring the shoots grow between the wires.

Once the vines have reached the desired height, the spreaders can be closed, fixing the shoots upwards for further vertical growth.

This can be repeated on each pair of foliage wires as necessary throughout the season.

• negates the need to continuously raise and lower the wires
• the wire spreader is slotted onto the intermediate post and held in place by the external hooks
• the height positioning of the wire spreader is determined by the method of vine training
